5th Annual Krispy Kreme Challenge Nov. 16

Huntsville's 5th annual Krispy Kreme Challenge to Benefit UCP is Saturday, Nov. 16, at 8 a.m. at the former East Clinton Elementary School campus, located at 200 White Street. Thanks to the 600 runners and walkers who participated in 2012!

The Challenge: Run 2 miles from the start line in beautiful downtown Huntsville to Krispy Kreme on North Memorial Parkway; Eat 1 dozen doughnuts; Run 2 miles BACK to the finish line...ALL IN ONE HOUR! The Challenge begins at 8 a.m.

What if I don’t want to eat a dozen doughnuts? Learn the answer to this and more at FAQs and Race Rules.

The Reward: Proceeds from your registration fee directly help more than 1,000 children and adults and their families right here in North Alabama receive needed health, support, and technology services as related to 156 disabilities and diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and more. UCP thanks you for your generosity and participation in this just-for-fun event.

The Award: The Krispy Kreme Challenge is not a certified race or qualifier for a subsequent race. Each participant who completes the Challenge will receive an "I Met the Challenge" event T-shirt (to properly brag about your accomplishment). Those who do not meet the challenge will receive a KKC event T-shirt (still cool, minus bragging rights). The best award and recognition is having fun while benefiting client services at UCP! Awards for Top Three Overall Finishers.

The Fun Mile: Run, jog, walk, or stroll the 1-mile Fun Run route at your own pace in support of UCP. Enjoy doughnut decorating, music, games, inflatables and more in the family-friendly Fun Zone beginning at 8 a.m. The Fun Mile begins after the Challenge and Doughnut Eating Contest.

Challenge registration is $20 ($25 Nov. 1-16) and includes a T-shirt at the Finish Line. Fun Mile registration is $15 ($20 Nov. 1-16) and includes a KKC event T-shirt.

Team Registration is Back! Business team registration is $125 ($150 Nov. 1-16) and Community team registration is $100 ($125 Nov. 1-16) for teams of four. See the Doughnut Scramble Team Competition link in the left for complete details!

*Teams pay a little extra in support of UCP and for the opportunity to share doughnuts and complete the Challenge alongside individual Challenge participants!

Each registered participant will receive a T-shirt. If T-shirts are not available at the Finish Line, they will be available for pickup at Fleet Feet several weeks after the race.

Packet pick-up and late registration will be Friday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Fleet Feet Sports Huntsville.

All proceeds benefit UCP client services.

More Doughnut Fun! Join us at 9:15 a.m. for the KKC Doughnut Eating Contest in the Fun Zone after the Challenge and before the Fun Mile. For a $5 donation, see how many doughnuts you can eat in three minutes!

Opportunities are also available for participants and supporters to raise additional proceeds for UCP through the imAthlete.com UCP Krispy Kreme Challenge Fundraiser.
