Respite is temporary relief for family caregivers who are providing unpaid care to individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Alabama Lifespan Respite is a statewide program dedicated to making respite resources readily available to caregivers in Alabama. Services include caregiver education, caregiver mental health assistance, personal choice respite option respite reimbursement programs, caregiver resources and referral, public awareness, advocacy, and technical assistance to non-profits and faith-based organizations wishing to begin or expand caregiver support ministries.
